Vice Chairman - Mr Keith Allison
I have been in the Breed for 30 years. I started by going to Newton Ayclife Dog Training Classes where I started to learn about dog showing from Freda Marshall. It was there that I met other Dobermann owners and found that I could show their dogs and get more out of them, I was also fortunate enough to show and make up Ch Lyntarski Ice Man.
I started judging at open shows, then on to championship shows. I have kept three males in the house together, two of them being litter brothers, I also showed the brothers in brace at Championship Shows with success.
I love the breed and hope we can improve our stock. I know at the moment the temperaments are good but we must have something in place, i.e. a Fit for Breeding and Temperament test which I hope would be Kennel Club approved. I have, over the last two years, been introduced to the Working side of things and I am completely hooked. The UKDA would like anybody with the welfare of our Breed to come and join us.
Secretary - Mrs Margaret Welsh
I have been involved with dogs all my life and have owned Dobermanns for nearly 30 years. I am a founder member of the North Eastern Counties Dobermann Society and have held many positions on the committee. For the past 12 years I have held the position of Secretary.
I bred from my first bitch in 1980 and she produced a litter of 8 puppies two of whom went on to be very competitive at Championship level. I am very interested in obedience training and some 20 years ago helped to form an agility club which is still currently quite successful. I competed at competition level in agility with my male Dobermann – Man of the Match (son of the famous Dobermann Highroyds Man of the Year). I was treasurer at that club and also obedience trainer for many years. I am particularly interested in the welfare of the Dobermann and help to re-home Dobermanns through the NECDS. I assist in the running of a very successful training class on behalf of the North Eastern Counties Dobermann Society. My concern for many years has been the health and welfare of the Dobermann and I am privileged to have been asked to join the committee of the United Kingdom Dobermann Association as its Secretary.
I believe the Dobermann is the Ultimate of breeds and we should work together to ensure that the Dobermann continues to be ‘The Ultimate’.
Treasurer - Miss Sandra Clam
I owned my first Dobermann in 1982 and over the years I have had 9 Dobermanns, some from puppy and others as rescue/re-homes. I had trained all of my dogs in basic obedience and always wanted to take it further. It was through this ambition that I became involved with the sport of Schutzhund. Also, having previously had a Dobermann which had severe hip displasia, I was keen to find a responsible breeder. In 2007 I moved from Watford to Folkestone to enable me to be more involved with the Dobermann, not just in the sport but in all aspects of the Dobermann.
I've been in payroll for 19 years, dealing with all aspects of PAYE. As part of my various roles within payroll through numerous organisations, reconciling payroll accounts, including bank accounts, I have played a vital part in the role.
