Working Trial Warden Report

The IDC World Championships serve not only as a competition, but also as a way of demonstrating and an exchange of ideas to ensure the positive future of our breed.
• 2009 Apolda – 60 dogs entered, 54 took part, 16 countries represented.
• The high entry numbers show the growing interest in the breed and the popularity of Schutzhund.
• More and more countries are sending teams rather than just single entrants.
• May have to consider capping the number of entrants to 4 or 5, but will wait and see over the next couple of years, with tracking land being the main issue.
• The 2009 results show that more and more countries are moving close together in the score achievements, which makes for a more exciting event.

Proposals & Topics
• IDC website should be up and running by the end of September.
• The Icelandic KC will not affiliate the Icelandic Dobe Club and give no reasons why. Hans Wilblishauser will support the Icelandic Dobe Club and will continue to allow IDC membership. They will look to hold shows/events in Iceland and see what the Icelandic KC reaction will be.
• The IDC encourages its member countries to support world wide unification of:
1. Breed standard.
2. Health requirements.
3. Temperament.
